WORDS TO INSPIRE

Passing this Legacy on to the Next Generation

Throughout the Old Testament God tells us that one generation is to tell the next generation about Him. “We will not hide them from their children,
but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD,
and his might, and the wonders he has done” (Psalm 78:4).

This instruction is not just a principle - it can be applied practically. We are to “talk to them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise” (Deuteronomy 6:7).

In Titus this command is made gender-specific:

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanders or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled (Titus 2:3-5).

I trust that this series has aided you, as it has me. Lord, teach us to be redeemed helpers to our husbands, servants in the church, and teacher of the truth to our children, grandchildren, and other women who need this Biblical understanding.
